Legacy product modernization
Move forward without losing what already works.
Discuss your productStart with the change the business needs
A legacy system is a problem when it prevents a valuable product change, creates operational risk or makes maintenance disproportionately difficult. We begin with that constraint. Age or framework choice alone is not a sufficient reason to replace a working system. The first decision is what must become possible for the business.
Understand the behaviour worth preserving
Existing workflows often contain rules that are poorly documented but important to customers. We inspect representative journeys, data ownership and external integrations. We distinguish accidental complexity from behaviour that the replacement must retain. This produces a concrete boundary for the improvement and identifies assumptions that need verification.
Choose a staged transition
Where practical, we isolate a capability and move it behind an agreed interface. Migration planning accounts for historical data, work in progress and reconciliation between systems. We define acceptance evidence and rollback or recovery arrangements before the change reaches users. Some products require a different approach; the assessment should make that tradeoff explicit.
Judge the improvement in operation
A successful change should make the intended product work possible and leave the team able to operate it. We review correctness, reliability and maintenance responsibilities after release. Our prescription integration work illustrates experience with connected operational workflows; the modernization plan for your product is based on its own constraints and evidence.
Questions before we start
Does modernization require a full rewrite?
No. A targeted change may address the constraint with less disruption. A rewrite is one option to evaluate, not the default recommendation.
How do you protect existing users?
We identify essential journeys, establish acceptance checks and plan the data and operating transition. Release scope and recovery depend on the system.
